Adventure Codex is built to get out of your way. There’s no sign-up wall between you and your character sheet. The HP tracker, spell slots, currency, and consumables all work immediately on a fresh install, and that data stays on your device.
When an account helps
An account (a free one) unlocks two things:
- Cross-device sync, so the same character appears on your phone, tablet, and the web app at adventurecodex.app.
- Shared Tables, a party pool where everyone sees the same loot, currency, and audit log.
Sign-in is passwordless. You enter your email, tap a one-time magic link, and you’re in. Your existing guest character comes with you, so nothing you tracked before signing in is lost.
If you only ever play on one device and don’t need to share, you never have to create an account.

Do you need an account to use Adventure Codex?

What do I get if I do sign in?

Will I lose my guest data if I sign in later?
No. A guest session is linked to your device, and signing in later carries that character data into your account.
Do I need an account to join my party's Table?
You need to be signed in to sync a shared Table across the party, so that everyone’s changes reach each other. Solo tracking on one device needs no account.
